Joan Rivers stops breathing during surgery, now placed in medically induced coma.

Comedian and E! Fashion Police star Joan Rivers was rushed to the hospital in New York City this afternoon after she stopped breathing during a surgery on her throat

Rivers, 81, was undergoing a throat procedure in a clinic when she stopped breathing. She was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in New York where authorities said she's in critical condition.

After her heart stopped beating during surgery, an emergency call was placed to 911 and the caller said, "We have somebody in either cardiac or respiratory arrest."

Hope she comes out of this. I always hoped she would live up to 100. She always seemed so strong, energetic and bubbly. According to E!, the legendary comedienne is in a medically induced coma at Mount Sinai hospital in New York.

Joan's heart stopped beating shortly after a routine surgery on her throat began at a clinic in NYC and was quickly rushed to the hospital. Her daughter Melissa flew to New York from L.A last night and is said to be by her mother's said.

"I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers." Melissa said in a statement...

Joan Rivers was in New York to promote her new book Diary of a Mad Woman when she went for surgery. She also filmed Fashion Police earlier this week appearing perfectly healthy.

News broke yesterday, August 28,2014 about the death of a doctor from Ebola in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers state.

This led to widespread panic and dashed the hopes of many Nigerians who believed the worst was over for the country.

This comes after the Health Minister, Onyebuchi Chukwu confirmed that only one confirmed case of the virus was left in Nigeria.

Ebola is now in Port Harcourt and here are 10 things you should know about the situation:

1. The first victim who died is a doctor identified as Iyke Enemuo

2. Dr. Enemuo died of Ebola at the Good Heart Hospital in Port Harcourt on Friday, August 22, 2014

3. Before his death, he practiced at the Sam Steel clinic on the East West Road in Rumuokoro

4. He was infected with the disease by an ECOWAS diplomat who he treated secretly in a hotel

5. The ECOWAS diplomat was infected after he came in contact with Liberian American, Patrick Sawyer,       the index case.

6. The unidentified diplomat escaped quarantine and traveled to Port Harcourt

7. The diplomat recovered from the disease and returned to Lagos but the doctor died

8. Enemuo’s wife, also a doctor, has shown symptoms of the disease and has been quarantined

9. The couple’s 3 month old baby has also been quarantined and 70 other people are being observed

10. The incident has been confirmed by the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu and the Rivers State             Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

ISIS releases Video showing Execution of 250 Syrians.

This is so sad..

According to a video posted on Youtube, Islamic state militants ISIS appear to have executed 250 Syrian soldiers.

The authenticity of video was confirmed an ISIS fighter to  Reuters, “Yes, we have executed them all.”

A statement posted online and circulated on Twitter by supporters of ISIS, claimed the extremists killed about 200 government prisoners captured near the Tabqa air base.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, soldiers were captured when they attempted to flee the fallen air base in Raqqa.

The video shows dozens of men in boxers and briefs, being marched through the desert with their hands behind their heads. Then later, the video shows piles bodies of all the men lying face down on the floor.

The caption of the video, read, “The 250 shabeeha taken captive by the Islamic State [ISIS] from Tabqa in Raqqa have been executed.”

Pres. Goodluck Jonathan launches new national e-ID card in Abuja. (PHOTOS)

President Jonathan today August 28th launched the new national e-ID card at the Villa in Abuja. The new e-ID card which is powered by MasterCard is designed to also be used to transact and receive payments. So it's two in one, ID card and ATM.

The first phase of the project will see 13million Nigerians issued the card while the next phase will target 100million Nigerians. The project is a partnership with MasterCard, the Nigerian National Identity Management Commission and Access bank. See more photos below...
