Iyanya Has A Message For Wizkid And Davido

Musician, Iyanya has spoken in what many see as an attempt to make peace between currently feuding stars, Wizkid and Davido.

The two musicians have been throwing veiled insults at each other via social media for the past few days. Iyanya spoke out via his Instagram account.

He said:

Stop talking!!! Let's release more MUSIC!!! Let's entertain Our Fans!!! Stop The Hate!!! My Prayer is that we ALL make it."

Whoa! What’s going on? Two of Nigeria’s biggest artists Davido and Wizkid don’t seem to like each other. If the subtweets The problem started when Wizkid tweeted a message after his show in the US. 

He wrote: "Thank you so much New York!!! Amazing show last night. Big up @wale and @akon for showing me love. Proper show. Proper venue. Boys talk. Men walk!” 

Davido responded by with a series of tweets. “Pull half my crowd before talking sh*t. Looser!” he tweeted. Oh, and Wizkid fired another shot. He tweeted: “I already killed NY!! London 26th September!! Manchester 28th September!! Big surprise. Still proper shows! Proper venues!!!”

Ouch! This could get ugly.

Glasgow 2014: Okagbare targets treble

Were it not for the track and field schedule, Nigerian Blessing Okagbare could almost be expected to be going for four medals at the Commonwealth Games, AFP reports.

The 25-year-old scorched to a commanding victory in the women’s 100-metre at Hampden Park on Monday, timing a Games record of 10.85 seconds, the sole sprinter in a strong field including Jamaican duo Veronica Campbell-Brown and Kerron Stewart to dip under the 11 sec barrier.

Okagbare, eighth in the 100 metres at the London Olympics but a long jump bronze medallist in Beijing in 2008 at the age of 19, was quick to point to a potential treble, as she also plans to compete in her favoured 200 metres as well as the 4×100-metre relay.

“Everything this year has been really based on the Commonwealth Games,” said the US-based Nigerian, who confirmed her promise when winning long jump silver and 200-metre bronze at the World Championships in Moscow last year.

“This year for me is like an off year but at the same time I wanted to come here and actually put on a good show.

“I am happy that my training led to these Games and everything came out well and to break the Commonwealth record is an amazing feeling.

“Every preparation has been made for the Commonwealth Games. My previous meets were not that fast but I just had to trust that I was going to be ready and everything fell in place.”

Okagbare added: “This is my first Commonwealth Games and I wanted to go out and first of all have fun but at the same time I wanted to win a gold medal.

“It does take the pressure off a little bit but it doesn’t mean I can sit down and do no more. I just have to keep working hard to keep on top of my fitness and shape in the Games.”

On that note, Okagbare said: “Is it possible that I could be going for a treble gold (100 metres, 200 metres and relay)? I would say yes.”

Unfortunately for Okagbare, qualification for the long jump and 200 metres are both on Wednesday, with the finals of the two events slated for Thursday evening, meaning a tilt at the long jump is extremely unlikely.

Heats for the 4×100 metres relay, however, are on Friday, with the final on Saturday.

“The 200 metres is a little easier for me to digest,” Okagbare said when asked what her favourite event was.

“The 100 metres is over so fast and any mistake you make is so hard to make up for.”

The Nigerian will be hoping she can keep her form through until the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , where her versatility could well see her have the chance of becoming one of the stars of the track.

“I’m going to prepare and do my thing and yes I plan to push on and aim for the Olympics,” said the training partner of the US ’s 100-metre world champion from 2011, Carmelita Jeter.

“As long as I stay healthy and train the best I can. I must stay on top of my shape.”

eScan warns of Self-Replicating Worm that Infects Android Smartphones

MUMBAI, INDIA – July 19, 2014: eScan, one of the leading Anti-Virus and Content Security Solution providers, warns users of an Android worm that spreads through text messages. A virus known as ‘Andr/SlfMite-A’ has been recently discovered that is spreading throughout the Android world through text messages (SMS). People are not really suspicious of text messages that they receive from known numbers and the virus is apparently playing with this trust.

Andr/SlfMite-A virus sends SMSs, which includes a malicious link. If you unknowingly click on the embedded link within the SMS, then the virus easily get installed on your phone. Once the virus is downloaded onto your phone, it secretly sends text messages with malicious link to the first 20 contacts from your contact list.

These kind of self-replicating ‘worms’ send SMSs to your contact list, thus playing with the trust that the receiver has in you. Just because the person from your contact thinks that the message is from you and hence is a genuine text message, they might just get tricked into clicking the link and unknowingly allow the virus to get installed onto their phone.

Surprisingly, Andr/SlfMite-A also shows up on Windows systems. When this malware gets downloaded onto the computer, it alters the browser settings, so that when you enter a search term, it automatically redirects you to a malicious websites. It also makes changes in the registry and system files so that it can remain undetected.

When it comes to SMS’s, why are such attacks more dangerous?

a.) As criminals directly attack the Smartphone of the user, it becomes a highly personalized attack.

b.) Users generally respond to an SMS quickly as compared to an email.

c.) As it is a personal device, user may also have stored his/her personal information such as account details or credit card info on his/her Smartphone, for handy usage and quick transactions. This may also put user’s personal information in danger.

d.) Such attacks can be executed easily as minimal interaction is required for SMS phishing attack.

Fortunately, there are ways you can combat it. eScan suggests few tips that can keep you safe from such self-replicating ‘worms’.

•Always have anti-virus software installed on your Android Smartphone.

•Never download any application in Android from untrusted source. It is recommended that you only download apps from Google Play.

•Always be cautious about opening any suspicious looking SMS web-links. It is advisable to never click on links sent through SMS.

•If you receive a mysterious SMS from one of your contacts, call them up and confirm about it.

•It is better to delete any suspicious looking messages immediately.
