His announcement comes a day after Cameroon shuts borders for flights from Ebola infected countries!
Davido has cancelled his concert in Yaounde Cameroon just a day after the country announced its borders will be closed and flights coming from Ebola-infected countries like Nigeria have been suspended.
The "Aye" hit-maker was billed to perform in the country's capital city last Saturday courtesy of the First Lady Chantal Biya's Foundation (CERAC) to promote education and health among young people. He was also scheduled to perform at the famous Safari Night club in Yaounde on Sunday along side DJ Arafat.
The singer took to social media to announce the sad news to all his Cameroonian fans Sunday night. He also promised to return when the Ebola scare subsides. He wrote:
"Je suis triste de ne pas pouvior etre present ce soir a Yaounde pour le show avec mes fans. Mon absence est due aux restrictions causees par le virus Ebola. Une date sera reprogrammes tres vite. Je vous aimes. O.B.O."
(In english): "I'm very sad for not showing up this evening in Yaounde for the show with my fans. My absence is due to restrictions caused bt the Ebola Virus. Another date will announced soon. I love you all. O.B.O"
Cameroonian fans have expressed disappointment over the cancellation but many understand the reason why.
Davido and the Nigerian group Psquare were in Cote D'Ivoire weeks ago for a music concert and also visited orphanages to share moments with kids.
