COMEDIAN Julius Agwu has declared that he will run for the governorship of his native Rivers State next year in Nigeria's general elections and has already began working on his campaign. One of Nigeria's funniest comedians ever. Mr Agwu, 41, graduated from University of Port Harcourt, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts. He hails from Choba in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State and is a well known actor, compere and comedian. Mr Agwu has already launched his poster campaign with the slogan: "Our moment of Change! Julius Agwu for Governor- Rivers 2015.” He joins the growing list of celebrities who have declared their intentions to run for various positions in their home states come next year's elections, likes of Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw and Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot had also equally expressed their intention to run for office in their respective home states; Cross-Rivers and Lagos.
For now, however, it is still not yet clear what political party Mr Agwu be contesting under. He is quite close to incumbent governor Rotimi Amaechi and may be looking to join his friend's All Progressives Congress.
