An explosion is reported to have occurred today, September 17, 2014 at the Federal College of Education in Kano
According to a Leadership Newspaper report, an explosion has occurred at the Federal College of Education in Kano state.
Reports filtering in have it that gunfire was also heard and the attack is believed to be the work of Boko Haram terrorists.
Unconfirmed
accounts also have it that the gunmen invaded the institution while
shooting sporadically to clear their path to the theater where they set
off the bomb.
Leadership reports further that many
students have been killed in the incident as the gunmen continued
shooting even after the explosion.
Residents of the Kabuga
area, where the college is, have reportedly confirmed the incident to
Vanguard saying that there is confusion in the area as people are
running for their lives.Security officials were also reportedly seen heading to the college.
